The Reason Behind My Dream
When I was a kid, I have always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. Whenever my mom would ask me why I wanted to be a lawyer, I would always reply saying, “Mom, I want to become a judge. I want bad people to suffer what is due to them. I want to help those who are in need of justice.”
Mom would always say she’s proud of me. At a young age, I know how to think of other people. Actually, I got that attitude from my dad. He is a lawyer himself. I am so proud of him. I used to read his law essays, and really, it makes me even prouder that I have a dad like him. He is indeed my greatest influence.
Today, I am halfway in the fulfillment of my dream. Soon, I would just realize I am already graduating and then, God’s will, I will become a lawyer. Thanks for the sample essays from my Dad which gave inspiration to me. Just like what I have always told mom, I promise to become the best lawyer I could be. One more thing, I want to change people’s notion about lawyers. They used to say that “lawyers are liars.” Oh come on, I want to change that. I know some of them have a point in saying those, but I would want to believe that there are still a lot of good lawyers in the land.
Dad is not with us anymore. That is actually why I am even more eager to continue his legacy. He has been a good lawyer, and I want to continue that. I want him to be proud of me. I want him to be proud of his self because he and mom was able to race someone like me. I want him to be happy knowing that there is someone who’s so willing to follow what he has started.
Okay, I am getting emotional already. Actually, my point here is just simple, be what you want to be for the glory of other people and of the One who sent you. If you were raced by someone who has set a good example, be his or her living legacy. Lastly, always follow your heart. That will lead you to where you ought to be.
